VOIP - Voice Over Internet Protocal

Welcome to the twenty first century.

If you are still making your phone calls with that plastic device with the push buttons, you really are not in the twenty first century.

The booming trend now is phone service voip. VOIP means "voice over IP" and calling is what it is all about. What you get when you use phone service voip is the ability to call virtually for free because you are calling from your computer to someone else's computer over the Internet. There are no charges to you local or long distance phone company.

How many of us have spent countless hours of numbing finger work chatting to one of our friends? Now with the use of this phone service voip, we can actually talk to someone over our computer with our voice and not our fingers.

All the additional hardware you need is a headset with earphones and a built in microphone. That is it and you are ready to use phone service voip.

There are many companies that offer this service even perhaps your own Internet service provider. You will probably have to download some free software, much in the same way you did to begin chatting. Email your friends to do that same thing and you are in business for phone service voip.

The quality of the sound when using phone service voip is just that same or even better as with a traditional landline or cell phone service. The difference is that you will not be paying for the call. If you have friends or business contacts abroad, phone service voip is much, much cheaper than using the telephone. Further, you will not being watching the clock and counting the dollars that you would normally be spending.

There are some estimates that in a very few years, virtually all of your long distance calls will be with phone service voip because of the cost savings. In addition, many people are hooked up to the Internet on a 24/7 basis. Most companies that offer the phone service voip also provide a built in instant messaging service. You can message someone before you call or leave a message if they are not available to answer. In addition, phone service voip usually will leave a record of your unanswered call.

Every year it seems like there are new and better ways to use your computer and the Internet. Phone service voip is just another way the computer and the Internet are making each of our lives better and easier.

You may think that one Internet service provider is the same as another but there are definitely differences. Deciding which company to choose for your connection may be a little difficult but I can attest that nothing is better than a cable Internet provider in my experience. I have used dial-up and DSL but neither compared to cable.

At first, I began using a simple dial-up provider because I wanted to save some cash. The dial-up company offered ridiculously low rates and I figured that one hook-up was as good as another. I had no idea how much better a cable Internet provider would be because I never used one.

Dial-up was a complete headache. I couldn’t stand to wait for pages to download and I felt like there was something wrong with my computer because things were going so slow. Those who have a cable Internet provider may not know what I mean so I will illustrate.

I used to enter a website address before making my morning pot of coffee. By the time the coffee finished brewing, the page might have finished downloading. People who have a cable Internet provider are probably stunned by this but it is far too painfully true. It took me forever to surf and I had to leave the computer to do other things to keep my sanity.

Of course, you couldn’t do worse than dial-up, in my opinion and I thought that my prayers were answered with DSL. I had a brief relationship with this type of service because I came across a computer with a cable Internet provider. This encounter changed everything.

I needed to check my email while visiting a friend. She let me use her computer and I was stunned by how fast the connection was. Even though she had an older PC, it was as fast as lightning. I imagined how much I could accomplish if I had a service that worked that quickly. When she told me that she used a cable Internet provider, I made my way home to get more information.

Within a few days, I was hooked up to the Internet and ready to work. I don’t know what I would do without my local cable Internet provider. I rely on my computer as a source of income and I also take online courses that keep me busy. None of this would be possible if I had dial-up or DSL.
